Tickborne disease PCR panel for dogs and cats
dog and cat assay data sheet
Tickborne
disease PCR panel
NOTE: THIS PANEL IS NOT PERFORMED ON
SAMPLES TAKEN FROM ANIMALS OWNED OR LOCATED IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
Test code:
P0025 - Tickborne disease PCR panel detects and differentiates the
following tickborne pathogens using PCR protocols:
Vets frequently see generalized symptoms that could be caused by a
number of different tick-borne pathogens. Recommended treatments and
quarantine protocols differ among these pathogens, and some can be
quite expensive and stressful for animals and owners.
The Zoologix
tick borne disease test panel is a powerful, cost-effective diagnostic
tool for use in these cases. Zoologix performs this panel using highly
specific, sensitive and fast PCR test protocols.
All assays
included in the panel are run from one blood sample, eliminating
multiple sampling requirements.
Utilities:
-
Help confirm the pathogen causing symptoms
-
Selection of appropriate treatment regimen
-
Shorten the time required to confirm a clinical
diagnosis
-
Help ensure that animal groups are free of these tickborne
pathogens
-
Early prevention of spread of these tickborne pathogens
-
Minimize human exposure to these tickborne pathogens
-
Safety monitoring of biological products that derive
from susceptible animals
Specimen requirement: 0.5 ml whole blood in EDTA (purple top) tube, or
0.2 ml synovial fluid, or tick.
Contact Zoologix if advice is needed to determine an appropriate specimen type for a specific diagnostic application. For specimen types not listed here, please contact Zoologix to confirm specimen acceptability and shipping instructions.
