Canine diarrhea PCR panel
dog and cat assay data sheet
Canine
diarrhea PCR panel
Test code:
P0022 - The canine diarrhea PCR panel includes qualitative detection and differentiation of the
following canine diarrheagenic pathogens using various PCR protocols:
Vets frequently see diarrhea in dogs that could be caused by a number
of different viral or bacterial agents. Treatment and
quarantine protocols differ among these pathogens, and can be
costly and stressful for animals and owners.
The Zoologix
canine diarrhea test panel is a powerful, cost-effective diagnostic
tool for use in these cases. Zoologix performs this panel using highly
specific and sensitive PCR test protocols
to enable rapid, accurate diagnosis.
All seven assays
are run from one fecal sample, eliminating multiple sampling
requirements.
Utilities:
-
Confirm the pathogen causing diarrhea in dogs
-
Selection of appropriate treatment regimen
-
Shorten the time required to confirm a clinical
diagnosis
-
Ensure that dog populations are free of listed
diarrheagenic pathogens
-
Early prevention of spread of listed pathogens
-
Minimize human exposure to listed pathogens
-
Safety monitoring of biological products that derive
from susceptible animals
Specimen requirement:
0.5 ml feces, or two rectal swabs
For specimen types
other than those listed here, please call to confirm specimen

unless more stringent shipping requirements are specified. Frozen
specimens should be shipped so as to remain frozen in transit. See
shipping instructions for more
information.
